Ex-escort Samantha X confirms new romance with TV star
She shot to fame after going public with her life as a high-class escort, and just a month after revealing her decision to retire, Samantha X has spoken out about the new man in her life - newsreader Ryan Phelan.
The 43-year-old divorced mum-of-two shared a snap of her and the TV star on Instagram, confirming the couple’s romance.
“It’s all out now,” Samantha captioned the photo. “Meet my love, Ryan @ryanphelan_tv (He is NOT Mr Big from my book!)”
Samantha X, whose real name is Amanda Goff, says her new relationship was a crucial factor in her decision to give up escorting.
“I knew it was time,” the ex-journalist told the Daily Mail.
“The love we have deserved Amanda not Samantha, and I was ready to close on the chapter on Samantha.
“Ryan and I are very much in love. He is the most beautiful man, not just on the outside but on the inside too. I've never smiled and laughed more in my life!”
Ryan, 42, reveals the pair met during her promotional campaign for her book Back On Top, with the divorced dad-of-two asking her out for lunch.
“We have pretty much spent every day together since,” he told the Sydney Morning Herald.
“I fell in love with Amanda, no one else, and that is who she is to me, Amanda, an outstanding mother and woman.”
For Samantha, who ran her own escort agency and charged $1,100 per-hour, her previous work was more about connecting with clients and listening to them than sex.
“They think they want sex, they think that’s why they’re booking you but nine times out of ten, the appointment becomes a psychology session,” Samantha X told Be.
“When women come to me and say they want to do this because they love sex, I say, ‘Forget about sex, because you’re not necessarily going to have sex a lot as an escort’.
“It’s mostly about talking, it’s mostly about connecting, it’s mostly about listening.”
