How to Do Your Own Two-Tone, Negative Space Manicure
"Double the color, double the fun" might just be our favorite new mani mantra. And the best way to let each shade shine is by adding some negative space between the two. Watch to see how nail artist Yolandæ of NYC's Van Court Studio uses both trends to create one awesome manicure. (and yes, you can totally do it yourself.) Step 1: Start by applying a clear base coat. Step 2: Using a super fine paint brush, outline where you’d like the first color to go and then fill it in with a regular nail polish brush. Step 3: Clean your fine brush and use again to outline the shape of your second color. Fill in the gaps. Step 4: Seal it all in with a layer of topcoat. And voila: You've got a trendy mani without ever stepping foot in a salon.
