Hot Air Balloon Crashes After Marriage Proposal in Edmonton, Alberta

A hot air balloon made an emergency landing after getting caught in a downdraft near Edmonton, Alberta, on May 27. One of the passengers had just proposed to his girlfriend during the balloon ride.

Jeffrey Scott caught the moment he and his fellow hot air balloon passengers crash landed in a tree in Edmonton.

The group was stuck in the tree for a minute while the pilot fired the burner. Scott told Storyful that "the pilot did everything in his power to arrest the descent, however, the balloon collided with some trees. " The pilot did manage to get the group free before being dragged 100 to 200 feet over a farmer’s field.

Luckily no one was hurt and a couple even got engaged on the hot air balloon.
