Blues Supporter Turnbull Looking Smug Ahead of State of Origin

The State of Origin temporarily divided Australia’s two most powerful politicians on Wednesday, May 31, as Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull donned blue in support of his home state and his deputy, Barnaby Joyce, wore maroon for Queensland.

The game will be the first in a series of three NRL matches to be held between the two states. According to news.com.au Queensland were looking uncharacteristically weak in the lead-up, on the back of their 2016 win.

Turnbull, too, looked smugly optimistic as he faced off with Joyce in his ministerial office in Canberra.

“Oh, you’re incorrigible,” the deputy PM said, walking away.
