Bill Shorten Stresses Need for Bipartisan Support in Anti-Terrorism Effort

Opposition leader Bill Shorten responded to Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull’s national security address in Parliament on June 13.

Shorten stated it was up to politicians and agencies to band together in their efforts to combat terrorism.

“We should throw the politics out the window,” Shorten said, and echoed Tunrbull’s calls for the Muslim community to unite against terrorism.

He also paid tribute to Kirsty Boden, Sara Zelenak, Zaynab Al Harbeya and Kai Ho.

“We owe the dead more than mourning,” he said. Credit: Australian Parliament via Storyful
