Meet 'Vegas Strong' Baby, Born 2 Days After His Parents Survived the Route 91 Festival Mass Shooting

An infant who was born two days after his parents survived the mass shooting at Mandalay Bay casino and resort in Las Vegas is the star of a poignant photoshoot from MBF Photography.

A video of the ‘Vegas Strong’ baby — named Wyatt — was shared to YouTube on October 10, while more images of the miracle tyke were shared to the MBF Facebook page, run by photographer Shiran Mariasov.

Many will have already heard, how baby Wyatt was born on October 3 to Markie Coffer and Travis Matheson. Coffer was nine months pregnant (and a week overdue) while attending the Route 91 Harvest Festival, when the deadliest mass shooting in recent US history took place.

Coffer told reporters that when the gunfire began, Matheson — who is ex-military — instructed her and her brother to stay down low. Her brother suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder, but Coffer and Matheson made it out relatively unscathed.

They were taken to a nearby hospital, where Coffer gave birth to Wyatt two days later. “I’m thankful nothing happened worse to any one of us… and we couldn’t be here for him. It was perfect timing for him,” Matheson said. Credit: YouTube/Shiran Photography via Storyful
