Deputies Free Agitated Deer Entangled in Each Other's Antlers

Authorities in Lancaster County, Nebraska, were called to rescue two deer whose antlers became entangled while battling for control over nearby does on Sunday, October 29.

Officers from the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office and Nebraska Game and Parks found the deer desperately trying to escape each other’s grasp on a river bed north of Waverly, Nebraska, after they received a call from a local landowner.

Deputies from the Nebraska Games and Parks lassoed the pair and used a saw to cut the antlers apart.

Speaking to local media, Lancaster County Sheriff’s Deputy Dennis Guthard said the rescue took around thirty minutes. Credit: Lancaster County Sheriff via Storyful
