What really goes on at a royal wedding, guest spills

With speculation rife we’ll have another royal wedding to look forward to next year a guest from William and Kate’s nuptials has spilled the beans on what to expect.

It’s thought Prince Harry is set to propose to girlfriend Meghan Markle any day now, with rumours the pair are already asking friends and family for their availability for next year.

It will be the biggest royal wedding since Prince William and Kate Middleton’s union in April 2011.

The marriage of the second in line to the British throne was led by the Archbishop of Canterbury and was attended by 1900 guests, including foreign Royal family members and heads of state.

Former royal editor and biographer Duncan Larcombe was lucky enough to be one of those guests at the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, revealing that William was extremely nervous before his bride arrived.

Speaking to Elle.co.uk, Duncan said that all the guests were seated in the same fold-out chairs and all had to arrive before the Queen, who was the last to enter before Kate.

The less high-profile guests had to wait almost two hours all up before Kate made her grand entrance.

While waiting, William had to take a moment to compose himself with Harry in a room just off Poet's Corner in Westminster Abbey, Duncan explained.

“'We were sat near there so they both walked straight past us and William looked absolutely terrified,” he said.

After the ceremony Kate and William invited a selection of guests back to Buckingham Palace reception, where they were treated to a live performance by pop princess Ellie Goulding.
