It was only a month ago Lisa Wilkinson accepted her new gig as host on The Project.

Now the former Today show host has announced that she's going back to her old roots accepting an executive editor role at Channel Ten's new website named Ten Daily.

In a statement released by the network Lisa shared her excitement for the new gig.

“I’m thrilled to be adding ten daily to my new role at Network Ten," she said, "the digital space is such an exciting place to be and with so much Ten content already available, I can see a huge opportunity for ten daily to go to the next level as a must-visit daily digital destination.”

Network Ten General Manager of Digital, Liz Baldwin, said, “We are delighted that Lisa has agreed to take on this new and important role at ten daily, along with her role on The Project.

Adding: “Ten Daily will deliver smart, snackable and highly shareable video content stories largely designed for the mobile experience. Coming to life via the website, social channels, daily newsletters and other channels, ten daily will capitalise on the growing demand for short- form content and give Australians a new, exciting way to connect with our content, on-air presenters and much more.”

Lisa, 57, made her name in the industry when she was the editor of Bauer title's Cleo and Dolly.

She was also awarded the honorary title of editor-at-large with the Huffington Post Australia. However that was shortly lived when they pulled the plug on the joint venture last month.
