After Lisa Wilkinson’s sudden departure from Today last year you wouldn’t think she would be returning to Channel Nine any time soon.
But surprise, surprise, the presenter still has a few tricks up her sleeve – the 58-year-old made an unexpected cameo on Australian Ninja Warrior on Monday night.
Lisa made a return to her old stomping ground, Channel Nine, to support her son, Louis FitzSimons, as he faced the challenging obstacle course.
“Although I am my parents’ son, I am my own man, and I’m here to prove that today,” Louis said in his introduction to camera.
As Louis prepared to take on the course, his dad Peter FitzSimons and siblings Jake and Billi cheered from the sidelines, but mum Lisa decided to sit back in the stands with the rest of the crowd.
Unfortunately the 22-year-old didn’t manage to complete the course as he wiped out on the third obstacle.
However, even though he didn’t complete the course, he did enough to snag a spot in the semi-finals.
The episode was filmed back in December, which means Lisa wouldn’t have been long gone from the network at the time.
Lisa left Channel Nine in October last year, jumping ship to Network Ten to snag a spot on The Project.
Her exit from the network after 10 years came after speculation surrounding her salary expectations, with reports Lisa demanded the same pay as co-host Karl Stefanovic.
