This is how many dates you should wait before sex
It turns out the ‘three-date-rule’ could be a thing of the past, after a new study revealed people are willing to wait a little longer before jumping into bed than previously.
A study by Groupon of 2,000 adults in the US revealed the average time couples are willing to wait before having sex for the first time is eight dates.
Men feel sex is appropriate after date five, reported the New York Post, whereas women would rather wait until date nine on average.
While hook ups and sex on the first date still happen, in reality only nine per cent of the men surveyed were OK with doing the deed after just one meeting.
The ‘three-date-rule’ is still the go to for 30 per cent of the men surveyed, and eight per cent of women.
Aside from sex, even kissing isn’t happening on first dates anymore, according to the results.
The average couple now don’t kiss until at least the second date, with only three per cent of women thinking they should be the ones to initiate the first kiss.
