MasterChef fans look set for an epic night of viewing, as Prince Charles will finally appear on screens tonight for the highly anticipated ‘Royal Week’.

But in a preview for the episode, His Royal Highness looks less than impressed by what he’s served up by one of the contestants in a taste test challenge.

Charles appears completely horrified when he’s presented with a canapé that features green ants as an ingredient.

It starts innocently enough, with the Prince of Wales asking what the meal had been made of.

“So, I wonder, what are all these?” he says in a very regal manner.

“Green ants on barramundi,” Matt Preston tells him, to which he reacts in complete shock.

“Green ants?!” he exclaims back, clearly not acquainted with the unusual ingredient.

“It’s our version of fish and chips,” George Calombaris jokes.

While we can’t see how the shock scenario unfolds, the teaser does reveal that Charles’ wife Camilla is also with him.

Fans are losing it over the prospect of seeing Charles eat ants on social media.

Whether the future king actually eats the ants is unknown, but it seems like most of Australia will be tuning in to find out.
