Meghan Markle 'must a build bridge' with her dad, expert warns

It’s the family feud that’s threatening to spiral out of control, with the Queen expected to step in to diffuse the situation.

And now, an expert has warned Meghan Markle that she needs to contact her father, Thomas Markle, before things escalate to unimaginable levels.

“Harry and Meghan have tried ignoring the Markles, but it’s not working. Before things get even more embarrassing for the royal family, they must try to build bridges,” Phil Dampier, author of Royally Suited: Harry and Meghan in their Own Words, told news.com.au.

“Ideally, they should go out and see Thomas or invite him over to London. It is incredible that Harry still hasn’t met his father-in-law. At the very least, a senior courtier should go out and placate him first.”

Many royal watchers have claimed that the Palace made a massive error in not befriending Meghan’s family, before she married Prince Harry back in May.

Now, it’s very rare that a week goes by without the Duchess of Sussex’s dad or her half-sister, Samantha Markle, slamming her to anyone who will listen.

In 74-year-old Thomas Markle’s most recent interview, he claimed Harry and Meghan would nearly be better off if he died and claimed his daughter had changed her number so he couldn’t contact her anymore.

Hi daughter Samantha meanwhile told The Mirror that she is ‘desperate’ for Meghan to mend her father’s broken heart.

“If they don’t, I’m worried he’ll die of sadness. I just want her to get in touch before it’s too late. Life’s short — neither of them deserves to be left with the consequences,” she said.

However, in another interview, a woman who claims to be Meghan’s old friend, said a reconciliation is far from the Duchess’ mind and revealed problems existed in the family before Meghan became a member of the House of Windsor.

“There’s no chance right now – he’s been a complete embarrassment,” the source told the Daily Mail.

“They’ve had problems for some time – from before she met Prince Harry.”

The friend also went on to reveal that Meghan is appearing stoic and poised when she’s out on official business because she’s taking her dad and sister-in-law’s comments ‘with a grain of salt’.

Royal expert Katie Nicholl also told ET that the royal family have gone through their fair share of drama over the years and would be pretty much unfazed by the comments being made about them in the press.

“The strategy at Kensington Palace, I understand, is, ‘Say nothing, don’t dignify these comments, these interviews, these articles with a response,'” she said.
