Meghan Markle reveals dreams of becoming a princess in old blog post

Meghan Markle might have claimed that she didn’t ‘know much about’ Prince Harry before she was set up with him on a blind date.

But if this post is to be believed – which is reportedly from the now Duchess of Sussex’s former blog called The Tig – she knew all about Kate Middleton and her royal wedding in 2011.

The supposed Tig blog post has been reuploaded onto a web archive site and shows the former Suits actress’ Q&A with Princess Alia Al Senussi from back in 2014.

“Little girls dream of being princesses. I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power,” Meghan started the blog post.

“And grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy.

“Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate.”

Meghan went on in the post to say that her dear friend, Misan Harriman, introduced her to Princess Alia Al Senussi, who was on the ‘Board of Trustees for Global Heritage Fund, where she concentrates on their activities in Libya’.

“I had a bit of a “pinch-myself-I’m-emailing-with-a-princess” moment,” she wrote.

“The Al Senussi family was exiled from Libya when Gaddhafi seized the throne in a coup d’état.

“But that hasn’t stopped Alia from flexing her respective royal muscle.”

Back in November 2017, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry gave an interview to the BBC after announcing their engagement, with the now Duchess of Sussex claiming that she didn’t have a great understanding of the royal family because she grew up in the United States.

“While I now understand very clearly there is a global interest there, I didn’t know much about him and so the only thing that I had asked her when she said she wanted to set us up was — I had one question. I said, ‘Well, is he nice?’,” she said.

“Because if he wasn’t kind, then it didn’t seem like it would make sense.

“So we went and met for a drink then, I think, very quickly into that we said, ‘What are we doing tomorrow? We should meet again.’”

Prince Harry also said he had never heard of Meghan Markle but was ‘beautifully surprised’ when he walked into their blind date and saw her sitting there.
