Sitting down for their first interview as an engaged couple, Meghan Markle said she ‘didn’t know much about’ her new fiancé Prince Harry before they started dating.
But an old friend of the Suits star is claiming that might not be the case.
Sharing a photo of the pair outside Buckingham Palace with the Daily Mail, childhood pal Ninaki Priddy, says Meghan “was always fascinated by the Royal Family. She wants to be Princess Diana 2.0.”
“It's like she has been planning this all her life,” she said.
Meghan and Ninaki were only 15 at the time of their visit to London, and their photo doesn’t look any different from ones taken by millions of tourists each year.
But in any case, if 36-year-old Meghan is intending on becoming the next Diana, she’s very well placed for it thanks to her passion for charity work.
Just like Harry’s mum, Meghan has spent time working with charities in Africa and has even been an ambassador for the UN and World Vision Canada.
She’s also got plenty of media experience under her belt - as the leading actress on a long-running TV show - and is 17 years older than Diana was when she got engaged at the tender age of 19.
So Meghan’s got quite the head start on this royal thing, even if she said, “because I’m from the States, you don’t grow up with the same understanding of the royal family.”
