Meghan Markle has proved she’s not out for Kate’s thrifty Duchess title after showing up to their first official outing together wearing a dress ten times more expensive than her future in-law’s.

The 36-year-old former Suits actress appeared alongside her fiancé, Prince Harry, and Kate Middleton and Prince William at a panel discussion for The Royal Foundation.

And while both women looked stunning in royal blue for the occasion, there was a massive difference in the price of their dresses.

Meghan, who is always impeccably dressed, showed up in a dark navy Jason Wu belted satin wrap dress, which is listed for $2,375 on Net-A Porter.

The American-born star looked flawless as she kept her hair down in loose waves and her makeup looking natural.

Meanwhile, her future sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, recycled a Séraphine’s tailored maternity dress she first wore for a Heads Together engagement in January.

The dress is thought to be priced at $175, which definitely secures her status as the thrifty one in the family.

The Duchess was also in her trusty pair of navy Jimmy Choo heels and also kept her hair down in loose waves.

During the discussion, Meghan gave her support for the #TimesUp and #MeToo campaigns sweeping through Hollywood.

“I hear a lot of people speaking about girls’ empowerment and women’s empowerment—you will hear people saying they are helping women find their voices,” Meghan said.

“I fundamentally disagree with that because women don’t need to find their voices, they need to be empowered to use it and people need to be urged to listen.

“Right now with so many campaigns like MeToo and Time’s Up there’s no better time to continue to shine a light on women feeling empowered and people supporting them”

Kate also spoke about how her work with mental health charities affects how she is as a parent.

“You can't help but reflect on your own life and it's definitely had an impact on how sort of I look at how I mother, how we work as a family and you know, how we hope to bring up our children,” she said.
