Meghan Markle wore this surprising brand for first 2018 event

They took some time off to spend Christmas with the royal family, but Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are back in the public eye, with the actress sporting a low-key outfit as she met fans.

The former Suits star and her fiancé were spotted visiting a local radio station in Brixton, London, for their second royal engagement together.

The couple were welcomed by Reprezent Radio, a 24-hour organisation which supports people under the age of 25 through creative training in radio and broadcasting.

Bustling crowds began to gather hours ahead of the royal couple’s visit with many clasping signs which read: “Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Brixton loves you”.

And royal fans were certainly not disappointed, as the royal duo arrived at 3pm to a flurry of excited screams.

Just six weeks after their engagement, the couple have been quick to embrace charity work and on arrival they met with CEO of the radio station, Shane Carey.

For the momentous occasion, Meghan recycled one of her go-to coats by Canadian label Smythe.

She also showed off her newfound love for British brands, as she donned a $75 knit by high-street staple, Marks and Spencer (it’s not sold out yet). The 36-year-old teamed the look with a pair of tailored wide-leg Burberry trousers and a scarf by Jigsaw – two more British brands, FYI.

The look came to an approximate total of $2,000 and it’s safe to say, Markle has the whole royal look down to a T.

But it was the royal-to-be’s hair that got everyone talking. Meghan did something the Duchess of Cambridge never has and ditched her hair curlers, fastening her locks in an untamed, messy bun. Which, no doubt, took hours to make look so effortless.

While some fans were thrilled to see the former actress looking more ‘relatable’, others weren’t as thrilled with the haphazard ‘do.

There’s no denying the fact her makeshift bun and down-to-earth aesthetic is intentional, with Meghan determined to push the royal fashion boundaries.
