In an open letter addressed to Prince Harry, Markle’s half brother, Thomas Markle Jr., accused the 36-year-old of being a “jaded, shallow, conceited woman” and said that she had not invited any family members to the big day.

At one point, speculation was rife that her mother, Doria Ragland, would instead take on the duty of walking her down the aisle at St. George’s Chapel. However, Ragland will be sitting in the pews, according to Kensington Palace’s latest update.

“Mr. Thomas Markle and Ms. Doria Ragland will be arriving in the UK in the week of the wedding, allowing time for Prince Harry’s family, including the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, to spend time with them before the big day,” the press statement notes.

Although Ragland will travel with the bride by car to Windsor Castle, it’s Markle who will walk his daughter down the aisle.

And that’s not all, as other need-to-know details have emerged from the tell-all document.

How will the big day unfold?

On the morning of May 19

When royal fans from across the globe tune in, the first thing they will see are wedding guests arriving at the venue between 9:30 and 11 a.m. local time.

Members of the royal family will begin to arrive at 11:20 a.m. and will enter St. George’s Chapel via a separate entrance. Prince Harry and his best man, Prince William, will arrive via the West Steps.

While the royal family members gather, a separate camera will film Meghan Markle and her mother’s departure from the bride-to-be’s hotel location. They will then travel across the Long Walk, where they will be met by flag-bearing crowds. They will also make a brief stop at Windsor Castle, where Ragland will head into the chapel and Markle will be joined by her bridesmaids and page boys.

On the afternoon of May 19

The wedding service is estimated to last an hour, and once it has concluded, the newlyweds will leave the chapel to greet the 200 charity representatives invited to the ceremony. They will then embark upon their carriage procession, which is likely to take around 25 minutes.

This is the final public aspect to their nuptials, as the couple will then head to Frogmore House for the evening reception.

Will Prince Louis attend the royal wedding?

In rather unsurprising news, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child — Prince Louis of Cambridge — will most likely not attend the nuptials. The fifth in line to the throne will be less than a month old when the wedding rolls around.

Will Prince George and Princess Charlotte have a role at the royal wedding?

It’s interesting to note that several royal experts have suggested that Markle has not chosen a maid of honour. In the official statement, it has been confirmed that she will, however, be joined by bridesmaids and page boys before she enters St. George’s Chapel.

Details on whether Prince George and Princess Charlotte have been given these roles — typically reserved for children in Britain — will be confirmed in the week before the wedding, but it’s looking likely.

How will Princess Diana be honoured at the ceremony?

Ever since their engagement, speculation has been rife as to how the couple will honour Princess Diana.

According to Kensington Palace, the groom is eager to involve his late mother’s family in the wedding.

“All three siblings of Diana, Princess of Wales will be in attendance and Lady Jane Fellowes will give the reading,” its statement reads, referring to the late royal’s older sister. “Prince Harry and Ms. Markle both feel honoured that Lady Jane will be representing her family and helping to celebrate the memory of the late princess on the wedding day.”

When will the royal wedding pictures be released?

For royal fans who cannot wait to see Markle’s wedding dress, hold tight. According to the official statement, the couple’s wedding photographs — which will be taken by engagement photographer Alexi Lubomirski — will be released the week after the ceremony.

The bride and groom have postponed their honeymoon

According to the newly released document, Prince Harry and Markle have decided to postpone their honeymoon in order to carry out their first royal engagement as a married couple.

It has not yet been confirmed where the couple will spend their honeymoon, though reports suggest that they could return to Botswana, where they fell in love beneath the stars.

Following their 2011 nuptials, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge headed to the Seychelles for a break away from the media spotlight.
