Meghan Markle's surprising link to Prince Harry's ex-girlfriend

Before Meghan Markle made an honest man out of Prince Harry, the royal had a string of girlfriends including Cressida Bonas, model Florence Brudenell and Ellie Goulding.

But the one who got away – and Harry’s longest relationship – was Chelsy Davy who dated the prince for seven years before they parted ways in 2011.

It appears Chelsy and Harry’s now wife Meghan have a surprising connection besides having romantic history with the royal – through Chelsy’s current boyfriend.

The lawyer turned jewellery designer is currently in a relationship with James Marshall who is the ex-wife of one of the Duchess of Sussex’s good friends, according to The Mirror.

James was married to Elettra Wiedemann – an American socialite and granddaughter of Hollywood icon Ingrid Bergman – from 2012 to 2015.

The 35-year-old is close to Meghan and even wrote a travel guide to Paris on the duchess’ former lifestyle blog, The Tig.

Chelsy dated Harry between 2004 and 2011, but ultimately parted ways as she did not want to commit to life as a royal.

The 32-year-old previously described her time in the spotlight as “difficult”.

“Crazy and scary and uncomfortable,” Chelsy said in a 2016 interview with The Times. “I found it very difficult when it was bad.”

However despite their split Chelsy and Harry remained close; she even attended the royal wedding in May.

The night before the nuptials, the former couple reportedly shared a tearful phone call.

“It was their final call, a parting call in which they both acknowledged Harry was moving on,” an alleged source told Vanity Fair. “Chelsy was quite emotional about it all, she was in tears and almost didn’t go to the wedding.”
