Meghan's brother admits he feels like an 'a**'
Meghan’s half-brother Thomas Markle Jr. appears to have completely changed his tune when it comes to his now royal sibling.
While his previous opinions on the newly appointed Duchess of Sussex were nothing short of scathing, Thomas has now admitted he feels like an ‘a**’ and is ‘proud’ of his half-sister.
Thomas was one of a few of Meghan’s family members that travelled to the UK despite not receiving an invitation to the ceremony or reception on the wedding day.
“I feel like an a** about it but my true feelings are I couldn’t be happier for her. I mean, what are the odds,” he told The Mirror.
“This is every woman’s dream come true, to marry a prince. So I couldn’t be more happy and proud of my sister. She’s incredible.”
Thomas, who previously referred to Meghan as a “a jaded, shallow, conceited woman”, went on to blame the increased media scrutiny on his family as the main reason for his various outbursts.
“It puts you in a different mind-frame and puts a lot of stress you don’t even realise on you,” he said. “Being photographed, followed, your private life turns upside down.”
He said things were done “out of frustration” but he has since realised he “made a mistake”.
Thomas even admitted he understood why Meghan put so much focus on her Hollywood career saying that something like that “demands so much of you”.
“We didn’t have a falling out, we always had a great relationship and I’m very proud of her,” he continued.
Just last week Thomas openly begged for an invitation in an open letter which was published by In Touch.
The 37-year-old noted in the letter how he and Meghan have become “distant” but insisted they are “still family”.
“With all the memories of watching you grow up, it’s hurtful that you would forget about us,” he wrote.
And this was not the first open letter Meghan’s estranged half-brother penned.
In a scathing open letter directed at Prince Harry, also shared with In Touch, he referred to the upcoming nuptials as “the biggest mistake in royal wedding history”.
He said Meghan would make a “joke” of Harry and the “royal family heritage”.
