Meghan's sister claims the star refused their broke dad money twice
They haven’t spoken in 10 years but Meghan Markle’s half-sister has launched another scathing attack at the star – and this time it’s over their father.
Samantha Grant, who now goes by the name Samantha Markle, claims their dad, 72-year-old Thomas Markle asked the Suits star for money after becoming bankrupt and moving to Mexico.
“He was very clear with her about the fact that he needed some help and by his report, twice she flatly refused,” Samantha said in an interview with Inside Edition.
Clearly still fuming about the rejection, Samantha, who hasn’t been invited to the royal wedding on May 19th, went on to claim that their dad has turned to her for finances for the Windsor Castle wedding.
“I live on a lot less than she does and he really had to chew on his pride to call me and ask me for help,” she said.
Despite preparing to walk his daughter down the aisle, Samantha also claimed that Thomas Markle still doesn’t have a ticket to take him from Mexico to London next week and she believes he’s waiting for ‘some surprise’ appearance from the royal family.
“I think he‘s assuming that there’ll be some surprise, that someone’s going to deliver them or that Harry’s going to pop by in a private jet and pick him up,” she said.
Meghan’s half-sister, who is in a wheelchair, lashed out against the former actress back in April, when she revealed that nobody from the bride’s side had yet received an invitation.
“The Markle family is looking forward to our wedding invites,” she wrote on Twitter.
“No-one has one yet. Still waiting. I hope London is wheelchair friendly. Excited!”
When Samantha, who has Multiple Sclerosis, was confronted by people pointing out the lack of closeness between the sisters, she hit back.
“At issue is not a matter of closeness as more than 1000 complete strangers are invited. Family is family,” she said.
“Out of respect, tradition, and humanitarianism, the #Markles should be invited.
“Our uncle who got her the internship, brother, me, best friend of 30 years Nikki Priddy, nephews. Fact.”
Samantha has previously said that she hasn’t seen Meghan in ten years and blames the former actress’ career on their separation.
“I felt that we had drifted apart,” she told the Daily Mail, “In retrospect, when I search my heart, maybe she just got very busy.”
“The royal family would be appalled by what she’s done to her own family,” she added to The Sun.
