Melania Trump's sparkling New Year’s Eve dress may have cost $7,300 but people are comparing it to a shower curtain.

The 47-year-old FLOTUS’s gown, which was designed by Erdem, featured a dazzling, pink shimmering material, which was laden with embroidered flowers.

And while it may have cost a bomb, people on Twitter couldn’t help but compare it to a bathroom shower curtain.

“This is my grandma’s shower curtain. It was stolen last week from her home in Palm Beach, Florida (near Donald and Melania Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate). Please call if you can help us solve this heinous crime,” one person joked on Twitter, alongside a photo of a shower curtain.

Another person posted a mem to Instagram, which showed the design of Melania’s gown digitally superimposed on to another shower curtain.

“Who wore it better?” the caption read.

The dress is in fact already sold out online, with some shoppers obviously not worried about the fact that it’s being mercilessly mocked online.

Melania was attending her husband, President Donald Trump’s New Year’s Eve party in Mar-A-Lago at his prestigious club.

On New Year’s Day, Melania was spotted disembarking a flight back from Florida, wearing a pair of $1,200 Helmut Lang leather leggings

Melania, who was wearing heavy eye-make-up, held on to her husband’s hand as they walked across the White House lawn.

She teamed her pricey leggings with a pair of burgundy killer heels and a matching carry bag.

The 47-year-old appeared to be wearing a burgundy polo neck, which she covered with a mushroom-coloured winter coat.
