We all know him as the rugby legend who pops up at royal events thanks to his marriage to Prince Harry’s cousin Zara Phillips, but Mike Tindall is causing some unlikely waves in the lead-up to the royal wedding – and it’s all due to his new nose.
The former England rugby captain is known for his outrageously crooked beak, with reports he’s broken it at least eight times during his lengthy career.
Mike, who married Zara in 2011, has famously resisted all royal attempts to get corrective surgery, with Zara’s mum Anne even offering to pay for the procedure in a bid to salvage her daughter’s wedding pics.
At the time, Mike claimed he was likely to break his nose again in the upcoming Rugby World Cup and decided it against it.

After retiring in 2014, it’s been a long time coming, but Mike, who has a three-year-daughter Mia and is expecting a baby with Zara in July, finally decided to go under the knife a few weeks ago.
“I don’t really want to get it fixed, but it looks like I might have to because I can’t actually breathe very well,” Mike told the Daily Mirror in 2015. “I guess it’s something similar to a pug.”
PEOPLE reports the rugby star first broke his nose at just five-years-old, and by the time he ended his career, both his nostrils had collapsed meaning he could only breathe out of his mouth.
Needless to say, Mike’s new nose has won him a very different legion of fans than before.
