Move over Gwyneth Paltrow, there’s a new standard that’s been set when it comes to celebrity breakups and it comes from adorable Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown.
The 14-year-old star has been dating musician Jacob Sartorius for the last seven months, but after deciding they’d be better off as friends, Millie Bobby Brown and Jacob decided to announce their split on Instagram.
“The decision with Jacob and I was completely mutual,” Millie wrote on Instagram. “We are both happy and remaining friends.”

Her 15-year-old ex was similarly mature about the whole situation, posting the same message to his 9.2 million Instagram followers.
“The decision with Mills was completely mutual & we are both happy and remaining friends,” he wrote.
Let’s all think back to our teen romances shall we? A breakup usually involved one person ignoring the other, a depressing Snow Patrol song being played on repeat, and tears being sobbed to your bestie while hiding in your bedroom.
It makes sense then that Twitter is having a field day with the breakup statement, with fans telling the pair to chill out and enjoy their teen years.
What kind of world do we live in where 14yr olds need to release a press statement to explain their breakup? #MillieBobbyBrown

Millie might only be 14, but she’s pretty grown up for her age.
With a net worth of an estimated $3 million thanks to her role in Stranger Things, and over 17 million followers on Instagram, we can see why she’s so good at #adulting.
