Missy Higgins has welcomed new baby girl

Aussie sweetheart Missy Higgins and husband Dan Lee have welcomed their second child and first daughter, baby Luna.

Sharing the exciting news to Instagram the proud 34-year-old mum posted a bare-faced selfie where she is holding the precious new bub in her arms.

“Welcome to the world little Luna,” she captioned the post.

Missy and Dan, who have been married since 2016, were eagerly awaiting the arrival of their newest family member who will be raised alongside their 3-year-old son Samuel Arrow Lee.

Earlier this year the songwriter made her comeback with album Solastalgia, telling Be that after becoming a mother she “felt like she had something to say and felt inspired”.

“I think I felt particularly inspired after having a kid and I felt as though it unlocked parts of me and made me more aware about certain things around me,” Missy said.

“It makes you see the world in a different way.”

And it was actually while she was performing as the opening act for Ed Sheeran‘s Perth concert that she announced the exciting news that she was pregnant with her second child.

Missy revealed to the crowd of about 60,000 that she had always wanted to write and perform a song to her children that summed up the day she met their father Dan.

“And on that note, I’d like to tell you guys that I’m expecting,” she said unexpectedly.

Of course, the crowd then erupted in cheers of support when Missy revealed it was the first time she has shared the happy news.
