A mum has revealed that she managed to shift half her body weight by taking up pole dancing classes.

Mel Lovell revealed that about three years she weighed 124kg and was “really unhappy” with her body.

After having weight loss surgery, 48-year-old Mel, who hails from Plymouth in the UK, was left with sagging skin she needed to get rid of.

She may have been losing weight but Mel was still not confident with her figure so signed up for a beginner’s pole dancing class.

Mel claims she couldn’t even lift herself up on to the pole in the first class, but looking at her now you would never believe it.

She was the oldest person in the class but that didn’t stop her and she soon became a master of the pole.

Since starting the classes a year ago, Mel, who has her own cleaning business, has shed a whopping 63.5kg. Photo: SWNS
