Mum's incredible triplets baby bump progress photos go viral

A soon-to-be mum of triplets has shared incredible photos showing her baby bump journey over the past nine months.

Maria, from Copenhagen, Denmark, is already a mum to two-year-old Mikael and was shocked when she first found out she was expecting triplets.

Maria and husband Anders are due to welcome two daughters and a son any day now, prompting the mum to post a series of progression photos which quickly went viral.

“What a journey this has been,” she captioned the post which gained over 10,000 likes in just 24 hours.

“From the huge shock of learning there were three, to people’s reactions, the numerous scans/checks and all the preparations and planning for this life-changing event. Nothing [has been] like the ordinary.”

The 35-year-old has been blown away by the reaction to her photos and videos online.

“We never expected it would create such a buzz,” Maria tells Be.

“We’ve kind of gotten used to [the belly], so didn’t think it was that spectacular.

“I’ve gotten hundreds of comments from all around the world, with people sending their love. I’m trying to answer everyone’s nice messages, but I don’t think I can keep up with that when the babies are born. There are simply too many.”

Maria said she is glad to have the progress shots to show the massive growth of her belly over the entire pregnancy.

“It’s strange to have ended up with such a big belly and it’s even stranger that it can stand out like that without falling down,” she mused in her post.

Maria is due to have a c-section on September 12 if all goes well, and the mum says she is looking forward to not having to carry around the 20kg bump anymore.

“We are so ready for the next chapter,” she wrote in her final bump post.

Maria and Anders got married almost three months ago, after meeting on Tinder four years ago.

After setting out to give Mikael a baby brother or sister, the couple were shocked to discover they had conceived triplets without fertility treatment.

The odds of this is thought to be roughly one in 4,400, according to the Daily Mail.

They’ve since been busy preparing for the arrivals, having had to upgrade their car, and try and squeeze an extra three people into their small apartment in Copenhagen.

All the best!
