Mum shamed for wearing pyjamas on the school run

A mum has sparked an online debate after she claims she was shamed by a headmaster for wearing pyjamas on the school run.

The clearly miffed off mother took to Mumsnet to ask whether or not it’s acceptable to wear loungewear out-and-about.

“Be absolutely honest. how many of you have thrown that fleece over the top of your jimmys and done the school run?,” she asked online.

“I have many a time, in fact did it this very morning, but bit embarrassing when the teacher came and asked me a question about DS and noticed the Winnie the Pooh sticking out the bottom of my jeans.”

She has since received nearly 300 responses from people debating the topic, with many stating that they do it all the time and others claiming they wouldn’t be caught outside in their pyjamas.

“I've never done it and can't see why you can't just 'throw some clothes on',” one person said.

“NO NO NO. PJs on the school run is all kinds of WRONG,” another person commented.

“To be honest I'd look at you and raise an eyebrow.,” a person said.

However, others supported the mum’s decision to leave her pyjamas on when she was dropping her kids off at school.

“Good on them! Think the dressing gown bit is hilarious! Love it,” one person said.

It comes after Studio 10 discussed the topic with co-host Jessica Rowe saying she’s done it on numerous occasions.

“I love having my jammies on, it’s so comfortable,” Rowe said.

“My daughters get mortified ... ‘How embarrassing mum, how could you possibly do that?’ But yesterday they had no problems with me wearing my pyjamas with them running after the Mr Whippy van.”
