Missy Elliott
Chances are 2016 will be an even bigger year than 2015 for Missy Elliott, who isn’t letting Graves disease get in the way of her future. You may remember she performed at the Super Bowl XLIX halftime show with Katy Perry on a medley of Get Ur Freak On, Work It and Lose Control. It was the most-seen Super Bowl halftime show in NFL history, with 118.5 million viewers in the U.S. alone. Word throughout the year was that Missy was working on her seventh studio album, Block Party, with Timbaland. On Nov. 12, WTF (Where They From) featuring Pharrell Williams and its video were released, and were soon streamed 6.1 million times in the U.S., with 16 million additional views through YouTube. She also made guest appearances on singles by Jack Ü (Diplo, Skrillex), Ciara, and Pitbull, 21:03, Janet Jackson, Monica, and Laiyah.
