Exploding tyre forces plane to turn back

A United Airlines flight has been forced to land again shortly after takeoff when one of the aircraft’s tyres exploded.

eGlobal reported that the Kansas City-bound flight was taking off from Denver International Airport on Saturday when the incident happened and the pilot had to circle before landing.

A passenger captured the dramatic landing, during which a message broadcast in the cabin instructed passengers to brace and keep their heads down.

The video shows the damaged tyre appearing to rip apart on impact.

There is cheering as the plane lands safely.
