Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's secret to a successful marriage
Australian sweethearts Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary.
And if you want to know the secret to their successful marriage, the couple live by just two rules.
In an interview with Parade, the 51-year-old Oscar winner revealed how their marriage has worked for so long, including this first rule – they’ve never texted.
“We call,” she said. “We’ve done this since the very beginning.
“The reason it started at the beginning was because I didn’t know how to text and it just kind of worked for us, so now we don’t. We just do voice to voice or skin to skin, as we always say.”
The couple, who often have distance between them, use FaceTime as a means of communication, but texting is a no–no as it can lead to misinterpretation.

“We have a lot of fun together and we just choose each other,” she said. “If there is one person I can hang out with, it’s him and the girls and that’s it.”
The second rule that Nic and her 50–year–old husband abide by is “spending time together”, even flying overnight to ensure they rarely have a night apart, doing “anything to make it work”.
The couple have two children together. Sunday Rose, nine, and seven-year-old Faith.
Nicole also has two other kids, Isabella and Connor, from her first marriage with Tom Cruise.
