Palace's 'aggressive strategy' to deal with Meghan Markle's dad

Three months after her royal wedding was almost sabotaged by her estranged family, Meghan Markle is still grappling with damaging outbursts from her father and half-sister – and the palace has reportedly had enough.

In her most recent attack, half-sister Samantha Markle warned Prince Harry that he would soon be ‘frozen out’ of the Duchess of Sussex’s life, just like her family were.

Meanwhile the former actress’ father Thomas Markle, proudly recounted how he ‘hung up’ on the prince during a heated phone conversation in the lead up to the wedding.

With the pair generating negative publicity about Meghan on a near daily basis, the crisis appears to be reaching breaking point, and the royals are said to be considering a change of tactic.

“The Palace, who normally takes a firm policy of not commenting on personal matters, is now considering a more aggressive strategy to deal with the situation with both her father and her sister,” a source told Entertainment Tonight.

“The Palace is at a loss of what to do and is re-evaluating options, including a more aggressive strategy to stem the embarrassment…” they added, “No one wants to see this continue.”

Meghan and Harry have stayed stoically silent in the face of the family drama, and according to a friend of the 37-year-old, Meghan will not personally engage with her father until he starts contacting her appropriately.

“The only reason Meghan hasn’t spoken to her father yet is because she’s yet to hear from him in a respectful manner,” the friend told the Daily Mail.

Thomas has claimed multiple times that he’s been “shut out” by the palace, but this source said that, “despite Thomas’s claim that he has no way to reach Meghan, he knows that her mother Doria is in touch with her and Thomas knows how to reach Doria”.

“If Thomas truly wanted to speak with Meghan, he could easily have sent a letter to her mother and asked her to pass it along.”
