Radio presenter broadcasts her labour live on air

If you thought having your other half in the delivery room was a bit much, then imagine thousands of people tuning in to hear you give birth.

That’s exactly what happened when radio presenter Cassiday Proctor went into labour on Tuesday.

The 106.5 The Arch star, who hails from St Louis in the US, broadcast her caesarean over the airways, with listeners tuning in to listen to the whole thing.

Cassiday, who has documented the birth on her Instagram account, said she went into labour two weeks earlier than expected and while the broadcast wasn’t planned, she’s glad she did it now.

"It was amazing to be able to share the most exciting day of my life with our radio listeners," Cassiday told the BBC .

She continued, saying it was "an extension of what I already do every day on our radio show [as] I share all aspects of my life with the [listeners]".

Since the birth, Cassiday has been sharing adorable photos of baby Jameson on her Instagram account, wrapped up in his hospital blanket.

Jameson actually got his cute moniker after Cassiday started an on-air competition to find the best name for her unborn bub.
