Mum's incredible Bunnings back-to-school hack

If you find it hard to get your kids organised in the morning before school, then this mum’s incredible hacks are your goals.

Cranebrook mum Belinda Hampson has managed to get her kids’ morning routine down to a fine art, by scouring bargain shops to create her very own school station.

Belinda spent $200 buying things like baskets, lockers and blackboards from shops such as Kmart, Bunnings and the Reject Shop to bring her visualisation to life.

The end result is nothing short of incredible, with Belinda’s two children, eight-year-old Lily and five-year-old Kai, now having an area where they can store their school clothes, hang their schoolbags, keep their snacks and even look at to-do lists for the morning.

“I’m sure a lot of mums can relate to mornings being stressful, so I worked out what I needed to do to make it easier,” Belinda told news.com.au.

“Letters home from school always got put somewhere and the kids couldn’t remember where, and school uniforms, bags and lunch boxes were all in different locations — so I brought them all together.”

“The kids love it.”

Not only did Belinda save her kids time having to run around in the morning looking for their items but she also created an after-school homework area with study desks and hanging pencil cases.

Above the desks, she hung a whiteboard, on which she wrote: “30th – First day back.”

And it seems she’s also a dab hand at overhauling not just her children’s school area but also her kitchen pantry. Photo: Belinda Hampson
