Turia Pitt is every mum at the beach
Turia Pitt knows that what she thinks she looks like, and how she actually looks don’t always align.
In a hilarious Instagram post before the long weekend, the burns survivor and motivational speaker shared a photo of herself looking ultra-glam in a bikini, alongside a more realistic one where she’s slipped, slopped and slapped.
Covered head to toe in the second image, the 30-year-old wears a wide-brimmed hat, sunnies and long-sleeved kaftan – a picture that would make the cancer council squeal with delight.
She captioned it, “How I imagine I look at the beach vs reality. So hot right now”.
As a new mum, Turia will have discovered that going to the beach takes on a whole other meaning when you’re a parent.
Before kids, it’s all sunbathing and frolicking in the waves - maybe you’d even strike up a game of beach cricket or bocce - but as long as you’ve got a towel, you’re pretty much set.
But as soon as baby comes along, so do all the accessories; beach tent, rashies, healthy snacks, baby wipes and loads of 50+ sunscreen suddenly essentials; not to mention leading by example when it comes to being sun safe.
Thousands of Aussies will be heading to the beach this long weekend, so it’s important to remember to cover up when out in the sun.
