Abusive note left on disabled woman’s car

One man has taken to Facebook in a fury after his wife’s car was targeted by a stranger who trolled her after she parked in a disabled spot.

British man Alan Tanner took a photo of the offensive note which targeted his wife and their daughter Paige.

"You will be reported for illegal use of a blue badge space,” the note read.

"I witnessed you and your young, able bodied daughter park the car at 13.10 on 19 Feb 2018 and walk towards the precinct with no sign of disability.

"This selfish action deprives a disabled person of somewhere to park."

However Alan has hit back, revealing the disabled badge actually belonged to the couple’s daughter, who requires around the clock care due to her disability.

“This was a letter left on my wife’s car today,” Alan wrote on Facebook.

“[My wife] was parked in a disabled parking space. Paige has got a valid disabled badge.

"So to the person that wrote this letter, do not judge unless you know the full details of someone’s disability.

"Paige is not a young girl as you stated but a 23 year old adult who is severely mentally disabled and requires 1:1 support at all times. I hope the person who wrote this gets to see this.”

Alan’s note struck a nerve with fellow Facebookers, with many praising him for calling out the rude letter writer.

“You’re spot on there mate,” wrote one.

“My wife has the same problem, the disability may be underlying. If I was approached I think I would blow a gasket and make them look stupid by showing them my wife’s disability and make them look silly.

“I know some people abuse the system, but remember the very old saying NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER .”
