WATCH: Hero dad saves son from falling shelf
It’s every parent’s nightmare: looking over to see their little one is seconds away from serious injury and they’re half way across the room.
One dad’s incredible reflexes and quick thinking has been caught on camera after he somehow managed to save his young son from being crushed by a chest of drawers.
While most parents would have to breathe a sigh of relief and file the incident away so they can gloat to their other half later about the heroic deed, this dad captured the whole thing on camera – and has even won a home video award for it.
The Nestie Awards are held every year by security camera company Nest Lab, with this life-saving effort nabbing the Superhero Film category.
In the clip, dad can be seen looking totally engrossed as he works away on his laptop on the couch.
Unbeknownst to him, his inquisitive son wanders over to a chest of drawers and starts climbing up them.
Dad looks over and somehow makes it over to the drawers in time, pushing his body against them and shielding his son who toddles off unscathed.
Every parent will understand exactly how this feels...
