Pink cancels third Sydney concert after shock hospitalisation

Pink has cancelled a third night of her Sydney ‘Beautiful Trauma’ tour as she continues to battle health problems.

“On medical advice Pink’s performance scheduled for this evening (August 7) at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena has been postponed,” a post on tour promoter Live Nation’s Twitter account read on Tuesday morning.

The statement went on to explain the mum of two was admitted to St Vincent’s Hospital on Sunday night where she was treated for “dehydration”.

Despite being discharged, she was readmitted on Monday and diagnosed with a gastric virus.

“On medical advice Pink remained in hospital overnight, continuing her treatment and recovery as advised,” the statement continues. “She will be reassessed by her doctors today.”

Other Sydney concerts cancelled

The 38-year-old was due to perform at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney Olympic Park, and the rescheduling comes after she pulled out of her opening night show at the same location last Friday, followed by the second show last night.

Taking to Twitter last week to announce with the sad news “great frustration”, the singer thanked her fans for their “understanding”.

“Hi my Sydney friends,” she began. “It is with great frustration that I bring you this news.

“Friday’s show will be postponed. I was hoping a couple of days of rest would help me kick this sick, but not at the speed I was hoping for.”

The ‘What About Us’ singer said she appreciated all the well wishes she had received and apologised for postponing the show.

Outrage turns to concern

Pink followed up with another Twitter post, asking how her followers felt about neti pots.

While she didn’t state why she was considering using one, net pots are widely used for allergies, sinus issues and colds.

The shock hospitalisation initially outraged some fans, but many have been sharing their concerns for the star.

Just a few days ago Pink was seen enjoying some downtime with her husband Carey Hart and their daughter Willow in Byron Bay at ‘The Farm’.

She is scheduled to perform again on Thursday (August 9) but it is not clear if she will be well enough for the performance to go ahead.
