In case you missed it, the clip showed Molly Cavalli climbing into a shark tank in the skimpiest one piece you’ve ever seen.

All seems to go well until the camera pans away and she suddenly has blood pouring from a small gash on her ankle. The video ends with her being pulled out of the water sobbing.

With all the ingredients for a viral video – a good looking person, sharks and an unforseen outcome – the footage promptly did the rounds of the interwebs, much to the delight of sex cam company CamSoda, whose logo was splashed across Molly’s chest.

But a veteran diver has since come out to say it was all one big publicity stunt, and he was suspicious from the start after Molly asked to film the hoax with his help.

“[Molly] said ‘we want to do a film shoot with a few scantily-clad women diving with sharks,’ and we were kind of sceptical of even that,” says Florida Shark Diving owner Bryce Rohrer.

“Then once we started getting the facts of what they actually wanted to do... we declined.”

He goes on to claim that Molly explicitly detailed what she was planning on doing and said she hoped the video would go viral.

Well it did, so congrats to her!
