The Spice Girls have brought us many iconic moments over the years but the best one has to be that moment when Geri Haliwell gave Prince Charles a cheeky bum pinch.

And now fellow band member Mel C aka ‘Sporty Spice’ has spilled the tea on how Prince Charles really felt about it.

During an appearance on Nova FM’s Fitzy and Wippa Show, the 44-year-old recalled how Geri aka ‘Ginger Spice’ was a “very cheeky” member of the girl group, giving him a “big squeeze on the bum”.

“She’d put so much red lippy on and she gave him this big smacker so of course, the pictures were brilliant,” Mel C recalled on-air. “It was such a smart thing to do, PR-wise, back in the day.”

Clearly the bum pinch did break royal protocol but good ol’ Charles didn’t mind at all.

“I think he quite enjoyed it, so we didn’t really get in trouble,” she admitted.

The singer also set the record straight on rumours the Spice Girls were set to perform at the royal wedding.

Long story short, it’s not happening.

Mel C puts in down to fellow band member Mel B dropping hints that they wanted perform.

You know when someone really wants to do something, and they think, ‘If I put it out there, maybe it’ll happen?’” Mel C said.

We’re actually kind of gutted the Spice Girls aren’t performing, although Elton John is now rumoured to be so there’s always a silver lining to everything.
