Prince George celebrated his fifth birthday on a private island
Prince George turned five yesterday and according to reports, the young royal has been celebrating in style.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have apparently gone on their first family getaway with three-month-old Louis, jetting off to the tropical island of Mustique.
It’s the first vaycay as a family of five and was deliberately timed to coincide with George’s fifth birthday, according to the Daily Mail.
Will and Kate have been to the Caribbean island before, in 2012 and 2014, when their eldest was just a baby.
The reason they’re thought to love visiting so much is because it’s a no fly zone, making their well-earned break completely private — a must for any royalty.
While the island getaway is a far cry from how most five-year-olds celebrate their birthday, we’re sure his proud parents will have ensured he had cake.
To mark his birthday, Kensington Palace released an adorable new portrait of him, thought to have been taken at Prince Louis’ christening a few weeks earlier.

In the newest snap, George can be seen grinning widely and looking straight into the camera.
“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to share a new photograph of Prince George to mark his fifth birthday,” the caption from the Palace reads.
They also thanked “everyone for your lovely messages”.
