Prince Harry asked Kate's advice before proposing to Meghan
It’s always been obvious that Prince Harry and sister-in-law Kate have a great relationship.
And now it’s been revealed that the prince actually asked Kate for advice before proposing to Meghan.
While the Queen has to give her consent for Harry to pop the question, a royal expert has revealed that he also approached Kate.
“Harry and Kate are very close, she’s been like a mentor to him and he wanted her seal of approval,” a source told expert Katie Nicholl in a piece for Grazia UK this week.
When Harry and Meghan first met and things started to get serious, he was really keen for her to meet Kate. That first meeting was reportedly a great success, and Meghan even bought a birthday present for Kate when she then came to visit Harry.
Ever since the relationship was made public, and now that the two have become the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Kate has reportedly made an effort to take Meghan under her wing.
“Kate is different to Meghan in many ways, but she has made great strides to help Meghan settle in,” the source continued.
“It’s a friendship that is still slowly blossoming. Kate has gone out of her way to be friendly to Meghan, and Meghan has been very grateful for that.”
Kate has shown Meghan “the royal ropes,” including introducing her to several of her favourite designers, and told Meghan she’s “always welcome” in Apartment 1A of Kensington Palace, where Kate and Prince William live with their children.
