Prince Harry 'blames himself' for Meghan's dad pulling out of the wedding
It’s supposed to be one of the happiest weeks of his life, but Prince Harry is said to be ‘devastated’ that Meghan Markle’s father pulled out of their wedding.
In just four days time, the 33-year-old prince and his 36-year-old former Suits actress bride, were expected to celebrate their love with not just his regal family, but also both of Meghan’s parents.
However, Harry is now said to be blaming himself after Meghan’s dad, Thomas Markle, revealed to TMZ that he will not be flying to London on Saturday, after suffering a heart attack and admitting to staging paparazzi photos from an internet café in Mexico.
“He is devastated. He feels like this is another thing in the wake of him… the problems he causes,” a friend of Harry’s told the Daily Mail.
“He feels that anyone who gets associated with his life – this is the price they have to pay.
“He wants to protect her and this is really difficult for him to swallow.”
Kensington Palace released a statement this morning in the wake of the news from Rosarito in Mexico, where Meghan’s dad has lived since he went bankrupt.
“This is a deeply personal moment for Ms. Markle in the days before her wedding,” it started.
“She and Prince Harry ask again for understanding and respect to be extended to Mr. Markle in this difficult situation.”

Meghan’s dad’s unprecedented move comes just days after he staged photographs in an internet café in Mexico with photographer Jeff Rayner.
The 72-year-old was snapped lingering on photos of his daughter and her husband-to-be on the computer screen, as well as being fitted up for a suit and later working out in an outdoor gym.
One image even showed him appearing to brush up on his history, while looking through a book called Images of Britain: A Pictorial Journey Through History.
The Daily Mail released CCTV footage from the day, which appeared to show Thomas Markle walking into the café with the photographer and helping him get the perfect shot.
Thomas has since admitted to TMZ that the photos looked ‘stupid and hammy’ but despite claims that he may have netted up to $180,000 for the snaps, he revealed it was nowhere near that figure.
Meghan’s dad then decided to drop out of the royal wedding completely after the scandal broke and he had a heart attack, claiming he didn’t want to cause his daughter or the royal family any more embarrassment.
