Why Prince Harry and Meghan are delaying their honeymoon

The days are ticking down until Meghan Markle and Prince Harry finally wed, and Kensington Palace have revealed more details about the big day

Among the details was the good news that Meghan’s dad Thomas Markle will be walking her down the aisle (despite her half-brother Thomas Jnr saying he wasn’t even invited).

It’s also thought that the royal couple will be delaying going on their honeymoon until at least a week after the wedding.

While most newlyweds can’t wait to jet off to get some much-needed R&R, it seems duty calls for the couple.

It’s believed the honeymoon delay is in order for the pair to carry out their first royal engagement as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

They might also be delaying their romantic trip as Meghan’s parent’s Doria Radlan and Thomas J. Markle will be in London and they wish to spend some time showing them around and introducing them to the family.

The meeting of the two family’s is something Kensington Palace have officially addressed.

Thomas Markle and Ms. Doria Ragland will be arriving in the UK in the week of the wedding, allowing time for Prince Harry’s family, including The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, to spend time with them before the big day,” the official statement explained.

Harry and Meghan are rumoured to be spending their honeymoon in Namibia, though others speculate they might return to Botswana, where they said they fell in love under the stars.

The pair might also head over to the Philippines, as it was listed as one of the former actress’s dream destinations on her now-deleted blog, The Tig.
