Meghan almost slips at Diana's niece's wedding

Meghan Markle had a close call at the weekend after she almost slipped over while navigating her way across a lawn in stilettos.

The new Duchess of Sussex and her husband Prince Harry attended their first wedding as man and wife when Harry’s cousin Celia McCorquodale – who is the daughter of Diana’s sister Lady Sarah McCorquodale – tied the knot in Lincolnshire.

Meghan was dressed in a floaty Oscar de la Renta dress with a blue floral pattern and recycled the white heels she wore to her own wedding reception last month.

But it was those very stilettos that almost landed her in a spot of trouble when she nearly lost her footing while walking on grass.

Thankfully it was only a stumble and not a full slip, and with the help of Harry’s steady hand she avoided disaster.

Four weeks after their own big day, the newlyweds were looking as loved up as ever as they joined members of Diana’s family for the wedding.

Harry, who was beaming, was dressed up for the occasion in pinstriped trousers, a vest and evening jacket.

Meanwhile the bride continued a tradition championed by Diana by wearing the famous Spencer family tiara.

The tiara hasn’t been seen in years, mainly because it was on the road in an exhibit about Diana’s life until recent years.

Diana and her sisters, Lady Sarah and Lady Jane Fellowes, all donned the glittering tiara for their wedding days.
