She’s used to being hounded for photos and autographs from her days as a Hollywood actress but the royal family are seeking out security to protect Meghan Markle.
The royals are looking for a female bodyguard to keep the 36-year-old former Suits actress safe, after she marries Prince Harry on May 19.
According to sources, Prince Harry would prefer for his future wife to be protected by a female guard, like his sister-in-law Kate Middleton.
“Those in charge of security are hunting for an appropriate person,” a source told The Sun.
Kate Middleton has famously been flanked by Sergeant Emma Probert since she got engaged to Prince William.
Emma used to be an air hostess before she trained in martial arts and Kate Middleton is said to be very fond of her.
When she wants to take time off, Emma is replaced by Karen Llewellyn, who carries a Glock pistol and a Taser gun.
It’s also been said that Princess Charlotte and Prince George are protected by female guards when they go out in public.
Speaking to The Express, a former member of the Scotland Yard unit responsible for royal protection, said the female guards were employed at the request of Prince Charles.

“From the start, when Kate became engaged, it was Charles who made the women-only stipulation, saying he didn’t want her compromised in any way,” he said.
It’s thought that Prince Charles made the request after it was reported that Princess Diana would get close to her male bodyguards.
“The trouble with Diana was she got on better with men,” Diana’s former bodyguard Ken Wharfe told The Express.
“She did have a woman once but she didn’t last long.”
