Prince William and Prince George's iconic twinning moment
There’s no denying that Prince George is the spitting image of his dad, Prince William.
And now royal fans have spotted that the adorable five-year-old looks the exact same as his father when he was a child, in the portrait released by the palace last week.
The photo showed a beaming Prince George dressed up in the outfit he wore to his baby brother Prince Louis’ christening – a white short-sleeved shirt with blue detailing down the front.
And looking at snaps of Prince William at his bother Prince Harry’s christening back in 1984, he’s wearing an almost identical outfit.

The only difference is Prince George donned navy shorts while Diana dressed Prince William in a pair of blue shorts for the day.
It isn’t the first time fans have spotted the similarities between the princes’ outfits.
Kate Middleton has obviously taken inspiration from the 80’s with George’s clothes, as back in 2015 for Princess Charlotte’s birthday, Prince George also wore a very similar ensemble to the one Prince William wore back in 1984 following Prince Harry’s birth.
Likewise, Prince George wore the same colour outfit to watch the Trooping of the colour in 2015 as his father had done in 1984.
The princes share an extremely close bond, with Prince William nearly always spotted holding on to his son’s hand when they’re out at official events.
One parenting expert told the Daily Mail that this is not a coincidence, and the five-year-old is most likely being prepared for future kingdom.
“Fathers are typically responsible for the disciplinary actions, redirection, protection and provision of the family,” explained Jasmine Peters.
“It is not uncommon to see a father with his son to set the foundation of what his role and responsibilities will be in life with a family. It is often believed that it takes a man to raise a boy to be a man. If you look at the pictures it clearly reflects this common belief.”
