Princess Mary poses with adorable lookalike daughters

It may have been a week full of British royal news but today was all about Princess Mary and her adorable Danish royal family.

The 46-year-old princess looked stunning in a cerise pink long-sleeved dress, to celebrate an exhibition opening at the National History Museum at Frederiksborg Palace in honour of her husband, Prince Frederik’s 50th birthday.

However, while the portraits of the dapper prince, which were created by Australian artist Ralph Heimans, were the main draw on the night, all we were looking at was how much Princess Mary’s daughters look exactly like their mum.

Posing for a picture-perfect photo, the similarities between Mary and her daughters, 11-year-old Princess Isabelle and seven-year-old Princess Josephine, are strikingly evident.

Both are dressed in lace dresses, with long sleeves, a style which has been worn by their mum on numerous occasions at royal events.

Oldest daughter Princess Isabella, also has her mum’s trademark mid-length brunette tresses, allowing them to sit naturally on her shoulders, exactly like her mum does.

Meanwhile, while Princess Josephine is undoubtedly her father Prince Frederik’s double, there’s no denying she has the same warm smile as her mum.

The family beamed for waiting photographers outside the palace, before they were joined by Prince Frederik’s mum, Queen Margrethe, who opened the exhibition.

The collection of portraits details five decades of the prince’s life, from his childhood up his 50th birthday, which is happening this Saturday, May 26th.
