Why the Queen is no longer a fan of The Crown

Just like the rest of us, the Queen has reportedly been hooked on The Crown.

But according to a royal advisor, Her Majesty is no longer a fan of the Netflix show after being “upset” by an episode that showed Prince Charles getting bullied at school.

In it, her husband Prince Philip appeared to have no sympathy for their eldest child, despite him being visibly distressed.

“She [the Queen] was upset by the way Prince Philip is depicted as being a father insensitive to his son’s wellbeing,” the insider told The Express.

During the contentious episode of The Crown, which focuses on Charles’ allegedly miserable time at the school, we see him struggle with mean classmates who slap him on the head.

When his dad comes to collect him to bring him home from boarding school, he’s very cold towards him.

“She was particularly annoyed at the scene in which Philip has no sympathy for a plainly upset Charles while he is flying him home from Scotland,” they added. “That simply did not happen.”

The senior advisor to the Queen said part of the problem was that the public don’t realise a lot of the show is fictional, as they believe it to an accurate portrayal.
