Renowned portrait photographer Annie Leibovitz stopped by Windsor Castle just after Easter to snap a few beautiful photos of the now 90-year-old Queen to mark her big day.
GALLERY: The Queen and her corgis!
The first image shows Queen Elizabeth II surrounded by her five great-grandchildren and two youngest grandchildren in the Green Drawing Room of the Castle.
From bottom left, the children are: Mia Tindall (holding The Queen's handbag), 2; James, Viscount Severn, 8 and Lady Louise, 12, the youngest of The Queen's eight grandchildren; Savannah, 5, and Isla Phillips, 3; Prince George, 2, and Princess Charlotte, 11 months.
As is the tradition of Royal portraiture, the Queen is holding the youngest great-grandchild, Charlotte, in her arms.
Another photo shows The Queen sitting with her daughter Anne, The Princess Royal.
The final image shows Her Majesty walking the private grounds of Windsor Castle with her beloved dogs, Willow (corgi), Vulcan (dorgie), Candy (dorgie) and Holly
The Queen's 90th birthday will be celebrated both privately and publicly by the family and the Commonwealth.
Well-wishers are expected to sing Happy Birthday to the Queen when she goes on a walkabout close to her Windsor Castle home on Thursday to acknowledge the good wishes of the public.
And in the evening the night sky over her Berkshire home will be lit up by a beacon, started by the Queen, the first in a chain of more than 1000 that will spread across the country and the globe.
